The next morning, we (my cousins and I) went to the seashore to take a stroll. As we were walking, we came across an old friend who just got back from the sea from fishing. And that old friend happens to own a motor boat. So we decided to hire the boat and go to Tres Reyes Islands: Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltazar Islands. We were supposed to visit the three islands but we don't have much time left because we were supposed to leave at 12nn and it was around 8 AM when we decided to go on a trip. Our parents didn't even want us to go because for one: it was time to pack up and go home and two; it's dangerous because the waves there are big and there are sharks. But us, being stubborn kids, we still went on. We almost didn't fit in the boat. But we managed to "balance" it. In the middle of the boat ride, we found out that there was a hole on the boat. Good thing, it's not that big. Whew!
Melchor Island was our stop. We went around the island before going to the beach. The waters were very, very clear. It was almost scary. You could clearly see the reefs but I think I only saw one fish. Well, my aunt, who grew up in Marinduque, said that if there are no small fishes, it means that there are sharks. I'm not sure if that's true, though. Well, it could be because I've heard a lot about it from other people.
I think these were taken at the back of the island. Good thing when the waves were getting bigger and bigger, we were getting nearer and nearer to the shore. Because it's a fact that the waves at the back of an island are bigger than usual. It's a white-sand beach. Oh, wait. Let me rephrase that. It's a white-coral beach.Yes, corals. Instead of sand, it was corals. So it hurts to walk on it.
When we got there, I regret not putting on my swimwear. The water was nice but it was also a bit scary because it was "biglang lalim". So I just walked around, took some photos, find some beautiful corals, etc. We stayed there for less than an hour, I think. Because we really need to get back home. But I was glad that even at the last minute, we still managed to see one island. My cousins said that the next time we go to Marinduque, we're visiting the two remaining islands (Gaspar and Baltazar Island) After all, we just live right across the shore. So technically, we live right across the Tres Reyes Islands. Hahaha! I can't wait for part three. 😂
