13 - Chick Flicks

Do you like watching movies? What's your favorite movie? Well, I love watching movies on my spare time. I can't say I have a favorite movie because I can't choose, but I do like chick flicks. You know... The girly kind-of-movies. Here are some of the chick flicks I've watched:

1) Clueless

It stars Alicia Silverstone, Stacy Dash, and Brittany Murphy. It's about a popular and rich girl who tried to help a new "clueless" girl by giving her a makeover and making her just like them, but she was the one who's clueless along. It was based on Jane Austen's book "Emma."

2) Flipped

This movie adaptation is about a young girl named Juli Baker who "flipped" the first time she saw her new neighbor Bryce Loski, who really wants her out of his tail. When Juli starts to ignore Bryce, he realized that the table has turned and he's now the one who's "flipped."

3) It's A Boy Girl Thing

This movie is about two neighbors who hate each others' guts. They changed bodies because of their bickering in front of a statue in a museum. And as time passed, the hate slowly turned into love.

4) Mean Girls

It's about a new girl named Cady Heron who attended a public school for the first time and was immediately befriended by the school's "Plastics." They were "friends," until Cady fell for the queen bee's (Regina George) ex-boyfriend.

5) A Walk To Remember

This is the "now typical" story where the bad boy fell for the good girl. It stars Mandy Moore and Shane West. The story is about a boy who's rebellious and aimless, but changed when he got to know the girl better. The boy just found out that the girl has leukemia and had stopped responding to treatment, so he did everything he could to make the girl happy. He eventually asked her to marry him because it's the number one on the girl's to-do list: To get married in the church where her mother grew up.

14 - MNL Adventures

Last August 14, 2015, we had a shooting for the AVP of our speech choir, relating to the poem "I am Filipino." First, they gad a shooting at APC's Discussion Room. After that, we went to the LRT station. The lines were long, but not long enough that the trains are crowded. In fact, the train we rode was kinda roomy. It was just John, Eugene, Fevy, and I because we got separated with others, so we just met at Central Station. When we got to Central Station and met up with the others, we went to SM Manila to buy some props. Well, they did. John, Fevy, and I went to eat lunch at the food court. We kind of took so long at SM. And after that, we walked from SM Manila to Fort Santiago. It was a very, very long walk, mind you and it was very hot. We were all so haggard and sweaty. By the time we got there, it was already afternoon. I think it was 2-ish? Anyway, we took several pictures there while the others had their "shoot." I was one of the last ones to be...

15 - Anti-Smoking Campaign

Why are cigarettes legal? That is the question that ran in my head so many times, to be honest. I'm curious as to why they are legal and marijuana is not.  I'm just really curious because think about it: Marijuana doesn't really kill people, but cigarettes do. Marijuana is addictive, but so are cigarettes. Marijuana can cure sickness, but cigarettes don't. I'm not trying to say that marijuana is good and that it should be legal, no. My point is, shouldn't it also be illegal? I think it threatens people's health more than marijuana. Cigarettes are deadly. I think cigarettes should be illegal because not only it affects the smoker, but also other people who likes to keep themselves healthy, like me. I'm not smoking for a reason and that is to keep myself healthy, but how could I if people around me are smoking?  Second-hand smoking is even more dangerous than first-hand. Smokers exhale it, then other people would inhale it. I hate to be blunt, but ...

9 - Driving Lessons

Last Friday (August 7, 2015), before I went to school for the Freshmen Initial Interview, my father and I went to LTO (Land Transportation Office) to get my student permit. I was really excited because I really cannot wait to learn how to drive and get my driver's license, and it's on my bucket list, but that's beside the point.   I've been bugging them until they finally came with me to the LTO because they said that they could see that I was really determined to learn, which I think was the biggest understatement, because I couldn't stop talking about it. Hahaha, just kidding! The very first time I tried driving was last Saturday in our village. In the middle of the night, I might add. The first time I sat behind the wheel, I was nervous. Well, I don't really know if I'm nervous or just plain cold because of the AC or maybe a little bit of both... Anyway, the first try wasn't really bad and it wasn't that hard because it's autom...
