1 - Island Hopping (Part 1)

Last summer, we went to Marinduque for a reunion. The reunion was held last May 1, 2015. But we (my cousins and I) weren't really excited for the family reunion. Don't get me wrong. I was also excited for the reunion but not that excited. ✌ Our parents knew that we had some other plans. We were planning to visit the 3 islands in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque. I thought that we won't go anymore because the reunion ended quite late, so everyone was tired. But not me. Well, maybe I was a bit tired... But I was really excited to go island hopping. Luckily, they're still up for it. So the next morning, we traveled to Sta. Cruz Port because that's where we're supposed to ride a boat to the islands. I was kind of annoyed when we got there because the trip to the port already took 2 hours and now they're taking too long to get us on a boat.

We went to 3 islands in Sta. Cruz: Mongpong Island, Maniwaya Island, and Palad Sandbar.

Mongpong Island
The first island we went to was Mongpong Island. It was a very wonderful island. It is known for its beautiful rock formations.

Next is Maniwaya Island

Maniwaya Island
It has a white-sand beach. Although the beach looks wonderful, we didn't really stay there for long because we didn't like the water because there were sea grass (I think)

and it looks quite scary because there might be sea snakes, and guess what? There were sea snakes. The black-and-white striped kind. Yikes! And the last one was The Palad Sandbar

Palad Sandbar

It's not really an island; hence, the name. It's a long stretch of sand located in the middle of the sea. It's where two waves meet. It only appears when it's low tide (early morning and afternoon) How cool is that? It was so enthralling, I swear. When we got there, I was like, Is this paradise? Exaggerating, I know. I'm a sucker for beautiful beaches. If the sand bar is not fully out, it'll look like you're standing on water, just like in Bruce Almighty. ☺ THE SANDBAR IS DEFINITELY THE BEST ONE FOR ME.

15 - Anti-Smoking Campaign

Why are cigarettes legal? That is the question that ran in my head so many times, to be honest. I'm curious as to why they are legal and marijuana is not.  I'm just really curious because think about it: Marijuana doesn't really kill people, but cigarettes do. Marijuana is addictive, but so are cigarettes. Marijuana can cure sickness, but cigarettes don't. I'm not trying to say that marijuana is good and that it should be legal, no. My point is, shouldn't it also be illegal? I think it threatens people's health more than marijuana. Cigarettes are deadly. I think cigarettes should be illegal because not only it affects the smoker, but also other people who likes to keep themselves healthy, like me. I'm not smoking for a reason and that is to keep myself healthy, but how could I if people around me are smoking?  Second-hand smoking is even more dangerous than first-hand. Smokers exhale it, then other people would inhale it. I hate to be blunt, but ...

2 - Island Hopping (Part 2)

The next morning, we (my cousins and I) went to the seashore to take a stroll. As we were walking, we came across an old friend who just got back from the sea from fishing. And that old friend happens to own a motor boat. So we decided to hire the boat and go to Tres Reyes Islands: Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltazar Islands. We were supposed to visit the three islands but we don't have much time left because we were supposed to leave at 12nn and it was around 8 AM when we decided to go on a trip. Our parents didn't even want us to go because for one: it was time to pack up and go home and two; it's dangerous because the waves there are big and there are sharks. But us, being stubborn kids , we still went on. We almost didn't fit in the boat. But we managed to "balance" it. In the middle of the boat ride, we found out that there was a hole on the boat. Good thing, it's not that big. Whew! Tres Reyes Islands (L-R: Melchor, Gaspar, Baltazar Island) Mel...
